Hay días en que me paso el tiempo escuchando música sin hacer ninguna otra actividad en particular, y cuando estoy así me pongo a imaginar montones de situaciones random en las que involucro al artista que estoy escuchando. Y mientras que el otro día escuchaba a uno de mis grupos favoritos Hexes & Ohs me pregunté que hacían a que se dedicaban a parte de la música y cómo serían en la vida cotidiana, así que me decidí a mandarles un correo para preguntarles. Me respondieron y les hice una entrevista, al principio pensé que no me responderían jamás, pensaba que siendo rockstars no le harían caso a alguien de México, pero resultaron unos bombonsuelos, se portaron super buena onda. Y ahora aquí les dejo la entrevista que les hice, una banda realmente imperdible.

1.- When did you meet each other?

We both went to the same high school, I was good friends with Heidi's brother. Eventually she and I got to know each other.

2.- Are you currently a boyfriend/girlfriend?

Yes!

3.- How long did it take for you two to say good bye to friendship and say hello to Love ?

The title for our first album "Goodbye Friend, Welcome Lover" was inspired by the events surrounding the creation of that album. Our previous band which included an additional member, a long time friend, had just broken up. When Heidi and I decided to change our name to Hexes & Ohs and continue just to two of us, we came up with that title as a tribute to that whole transitional period. In all happened really fast, we wrote and recorded the whole album in about 3 months.

4.- Are you each others muses of inspiration for your songs?

People ask us that all the time, but no, we rarely talk about ourselves/each other in our songs. With a few exceptions. We generally sing about unhappy things, and thankfully our relationship isn't great inspiration for that.

5.- How does you describe your style when comes to clothes?

We like vintage, and wear big glasses. We like classic basics, with a touch of rock and roll. I guess we're "Geek Chic".

6.- What was the most recent performance that you did together?

We played with a great electro-pop group from Toronto called Parallels in April.

7.- What is next foR Hexes & Ohs?

We just finished cover song for a "Plumtree" tribute album, who were a cult-favorite Canadian all-girl band from the 1990's. In June, we're playing the NXNE music festival in Toronto and then we'll be working on some new songs.

8.- What is your biggest achievement as musicians?

It's hard to name just one, but among the most memorable was playing with some of our favorites bands, like Sloan and Mates of State.

9.- Do you link your music with your videos?

The music and the videos are conceived independently. Though there are times with certain songs, like "H-H-Highschool" where we have a pretty clear idea of what type of video we'd want from the start. We knew that one would be performance and very colorful. But most of time, it's pretty much whatever we think would be fun.

10.- Do you get involved in the ideas for your videos?

Yes. We're both have art backgrounds so we're pretty picky about what we like. I have also done some illustrations for each video. Having said that, we have a lot of faith in the people we work with and support their ideas. We were the most involved for our latest video for "Little Bird", whose concept was created by both the director and ourselves.

11.- What do you do in your free time?

Both Heidi and I have regular jobs. She works in fashion and I'm a designer. Besides that, we hang out with friends, drink, eat and try to have a good time.

12.- What is your favorite film?

I really like science-fiction, some favorites are Blade Runner and Artificial Intelligence. Heidi likes romantic comedy, Love Actually and Princess Bride are definitely in her top 5.

13.- What are the items you can not live without?
We're unabashedly addicted to technology, apple technology in particular. We couldn't do without our macbooks and iphones, for sure.
